Jewelry Designs Shown With Donna Karan's RTW Fall 2009 Available

It’s been a busy couple of months for award winning jewelry designer Robert Lee Morris. He was honored with the Silver Marketing International (SMI) “Designer of Distinction” award in August and has just opened a 200 square foot store-in-store in the Henri Bendel New York 5th Avenue location.

The jewelry designer extraordinaire is a three-time winner of the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Fashion Award. Mr. Morris received a Special Award in 1985, Accessory Designer of the Year in 1994 and the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.
In addition, he was awarded the Coty American Fashion Critics' Awards in 1981 for his accessory collection for Calvin Klein.

Anyone who has read Mr. Morris’ fascinating book Robert Lee Morris: The Power of Jewelry knows he has collaborated with Donna Karan for many years. Karan wrote the Foreword for the book. Moreover, who can forgot Morris' eye-catching hip-slung bronze Urban Warrior belt design shown with her Fall 2001 collection or the 2003 silver keyhole designs for her jersey dresses.
The Robert Lee Morris jewelry shown with Karan’s recent Fall RTW 2009 collection is gorgeously simple yet ornate. Donna Karan ads running in many fashion magazines, including the October 2009 issue of W magazine hi-light the showstopper triple-strand necklace. The visual effect of this necklace is hard and soft. One layer is edgy and spiky – resembling coral tentacles, (Morris’ description is graduated pistons). The second is soft burnished wood and the third is graduated oxidized spheres (a similar necklace is shown on this page).
Robert Lee Morris also provided bracelets and earrings for season four Project Runway winner Christian Siriano’s Spring 2010 New York Fashion Week runway show.
